The 153 Project has been called to partner with a ministry in Monrovia, Liberia called Christian Bible Church Mission International or CBCMI for short. The ministry is headed up by Phillip and Gloria Boimah. The reason The 153 Project has partnered with Phillip and Gloria is because their vision is very similar to that of 153...they want to bring restoration. The Boimah's want to bring restoration back to their whole country of war-torn Liberia through spreading the word of Jesus.
Liberia has recently come out of a 14 year civil war that was lead by war lord Charles Taylor. During those 14 years all infrastructure was uprooted. Although the civil war has been over for a few years, the country is still feeling the devastating effects of this inhumane, unjust war. There is still no running water or electricity. Where a building once stood, there is now just a pile of rubble. There is no trash service or place for sewage and waste to go. Orphanages are overflowing because many of the children's parents were killed during the war. Phillip and Gloria believe that restoration will come back to Liberia. One way this will happen is to help equip the children, the orphans, of the country with the love of Jesus.
To help with this restoration, Phillip and Gloria have a vision called Mission Station (see picture below). Mission Station is a community that houses a clinic, a school, a church and housing for students. The purpose of Mission Station is to provide resources and relief to 32 surrounding villages. It will provide a place where these villagers can worship, seek medical attention and receive an education. It is the vision to teach people how to be self-sufficient through teaching them skills and trades like farming and agriculture.
